To prevent serious damage to your home you can test your sump to make sure it’s equipped to handle the next serious downpour. You can perform this test by pouring a bucket of water into the sump pit to see how the sump responds. To clean your sump regularly remove any gravel or dirt build up to prevent obstructions that may cause the sump to malfunction.
